- These adapters will not report noise or SNR due to limitations set by the manufacturer; noise will display as -100
Because USB 3.0 signaling is known to cause interference in the 2.4GHz band, users are prompted to select the desired mode of operation when launching the WiFi Analyzer application: USB 2.0 or USB 3.0.
At product launch with a single preferred 802.11ac adapter, you will be prompted to select from the following options:
- Operate the selected adapter in USB 2.0 mode.
- Use to avoid USB 3.0 interference.
- This locks the port down to 2.0, regardless of the hardware port type.
- This may limit the total throughput of the adapter.
- Operate the selected adapter in the USB mode supported by the hardware port type.
- This uses whatever the hardware port supports: 3.0 or 2.0.
When more than one preferred 802.11ac adapter is used, the USB 2.0 option is required. This may limit the total throughput of the adapters. When launching in multi-adapter mode with more than one 802.11ac USB adapter, USB 2.0 is assumed for all adapters.
