AirMapper supports both passive and active WiFi 6/6E surveys with the AirCheck G3, EtherScope nXG, or CyberScope. Different from passive surveys, active surveys allow you to perform a site survey while being actively connected to a WiFi network. Active surveys are commonly used to validate WiFi network performance and roaming.
With its dual radios, the AirCheck G3, EtherScope nXG, or CyberScope can enable simultaneous passive and active surveys to gather critical site metrics and validate end-user device experience and roaming on a single walkthrough.
Bluetooth is the second most popular wireless technology in the world, used for many applications from indoor location services to IoT device connectivity. In response to the growing market need to perform location-based surveying and heatmapping of Bluetooth beacons, NetAlly was the first to introduce a Bluetooth/BLE site survey solution.
The functionality allows AirCheck G3, EtherScope nXG, or CyberScope users to perform a passive Bluetooth or BLE site survey using the AirMapper app and internal radio, thus providing full visibility into Bluetooth network coverage and performance through Link-Live. It will also allow users to perform both WiFi (active and passive) and Bluetooth surveys on the same walkthrough, making it quick and easy to validate WiFi network performance while at the same time validating indoor location services or IoT deployments, as well as possible 2.4 GHz WiFi interference caused by BT co-existence in the same band.
The AirMapper Site Survey app collects data from the three main beacon types: Eddystone UID, Eddystone URL, and iBeacon. Measured RSSI data from all observed beacons is displayed in a visual heatmap in the complimentary Link-Live Cloud Service. An accompanying data table contains all location-specific details such as beacon type, RSSI, Tx power, class name, services, beacon ID numbers, and more. This data can be easily and quickly filtered, sorted, and included in reports similar to those used for WiFi surveys.
The AirMapper Ecosystem supports the creation and calibration of floorplans in Link-Live. Once created, the floorplan(s) can be automatically sent to any of the AirMapper collectors (AirCheck G3, EtherScope nXG, or CyberScope units) in the user’s organization.
Ensure Complete Record Keeping
You can document network issues and changes while conducting a site survey. AirMapper allows you to add comments anywhere on the floor plan to record observations or notes, which will be uploaded to Link-Live along with the survey measurements.
Access Point Location on Floor Plan
You can document new WiFi installations, infrastructure changes, and rogue device location while performing a site survey. Using the AirMapper app users can document access point location on a floor plan through Link-Live.
Link-Live features a complete set of pre-configured visualizations to help you ensure coverage, connectivity, and performance. Adjusting threshold values indicates areas where measured metrics fail to meet network requirements. The “auto-scale” feature provides more granularity and instant visibility in variations of key WiFi metrics.
NOTE: Enhanced AirMapper site survey visualizations (Noise, SNR, Co-Channel Interference, Adjacent Channel Interference, AP Coverage, Max Tx/Rx Rates, Max Tx/Rx MCS, plus others) and filtering require AllyCare Premium support on their AirCheck G3, EtherScope nXG, or CyberScope. There is no need to be an expert to analyze WiFi heatmaps and identify wireless network problems anymore. The AirMapper Site Survey app now makes it easy for anyone to quickly identify WiFi network problems using the new InSites intelligence on Link-Live. InSites simplifies the process of WiFi network troubleshooting by automatically comparing the AirMapper Site Survey data collected on-site to a set of pre-defined thresholds, providing a visual Pass or Fail indication on the heatmap.
With the cloud-based Link-Live service users can quickly and easily visualize location-based WiFi and Bluetooth/BLE measurements by creating powerful visualizations of the recorded data that allow centralized engineers to analyze test results from far-flung remote sites without travel.
Link-Live acts as a repository for latest firmware for NetAlly Testers that are under AllyCare to download/update.
