AutoTest

The AirCheck G3 Pro provides AutoTest profiles with best practice pass/fail thresholds for quick assessment of Wi-Fi network configurations and services.

  • Multiple Profiles
    Can be created for complex Wi-Fi networks with multiple SSIDs, each with its own set of services tests. Profiles can then be organized into named profile groups that allow one button validations across multiple SSIDs, bands and authentications. With profile groups, engineers can effectively transfer their network configuration and test knowledge to technicians, saving training time and effort.
  • Air Quality Test
    Is it the network? Find out fast with the Air Quality Test. A quick scan of the channels in your wireless network measures channel utilization and interference (co-channel and adjacent channel), allowing you to instantly identify Wi-Fi network performance problems.
  • Periodic AutoTest
    In this mode, AutoTest can run multiple test profiles at specified intervals and sends the results to Link-Live to analyze the results over time. This is an effective way to “monitor” connectivity of your Wi-Fi network for an extended period and diagnose intermittent issues without having to manually execute multiple tests.

Roaming Analysis

In the Wi-Fi link test graphs anytime the AirCheck G3 Pro roams and connects to a new AP, a green vertical line will be shown in the graph. Seeing the correlation between various factors and roam events can help diagnose roaming issues. Paired with the Connect Log, engineers can determine the exact step in the process that may be causing the failure.


Automated Problem Detection
AirCheck G3 automatically diagnoses various conditions on wireless networks and identifies specific problems which can be sorted by severity or time detected. Drill in to see a detailed description of the problem and recommended course of action to mitigate.

NOTE: Users of AirMagnet® WiFi Analyzer (now obsolete) will find the combination of Wi-Fi 6E support, roaming analysis, and automated problem detection in a handheld instrument with in-depth Wi-Fi analytics an ideal replacement.

AirMapper™ Site Survey 

With the AirMapper app, AirCheck G3 Pro users can quickly and easily gather location-based Wi-Fi and Bluetooth/BLE measurements and create visual heat maps of key performance metrics in the Link-Live collaboration, reporting, and analysis platform or AirMagnet Survey PRO. Simple to use, the AirMapper app is ideal for quick site surveys of new deployments, change validation, and performance verification.

Bluetooth/BLE Surveys

Bluetooth/BLE site surveys – the first in the market! In a response to the growing market need to perform located-based surveying and heatmapping of Bluetooth beacons, NetAlly was the first to introduce a Bluetooth/BLE site survey solution. This functionality allows AirCheck G3 Pro users to perform a passive Bluetooth or BLE site survey using the AirMapper app and internal radio, thus providing full visibility into Bluetooth network coverage and performance through Link-Live. It will also allow users to perform both Wi-Fi (active and passive) and Bluetooth surveys on the same walkthrough, making it quick and easy to validate Wi-Fi network performance while at the same time validating indoor location services or IoT deployments, as well as possible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi interference caused by BT co-existence in the same band.

The NetAlly AirMapper Site Survey app on AirCheck G3 collects data from the three main beacon types: Eddystone UID, Eddystone URL, and iBeacon. Measured RSSI data from all observed beacons is displayed in a visual heatmap in Link-Live. An accompanying data table contains all location-specific details such as beacon type, RSSI, Tx power, class name, services, beacon ID numbers, and more. This data can be easily and quickly filtered, sorted, and included in reports similar to Wi-Fi surveys.

AirCheck G3 Pro models are available in three versions: Full Tri-Band (capability across the entire 6GHz band), Partial Tri-Band (capability for only certain channels in the 6GHz band as determined by 802.11d regulatory domain information), and Dual Band Only (for countries where operation in the 6GHz band is not allowed.) The AirCheck G3 has a dedicated set of Wi-Fi test and management radios which support remote control and testing, and a Bluetooth/BLE radio. Third-party apps downloaded from the Link-Live collaboration, reporting, and analysis platform can use these interfaces for testing and communication purposes.

Benefits:
As a lightweight, handheld, ruggedized instrument, AirCheck G3 is perfect for remote site validation and troubleshooting, eliminating the need to purchase multiple testers, or the need to carry a fragile laptop or tablet. Apps make the user’s workflow more efficient by expanding the usage of the instrument beyond testing, allowing the user to check trouble tickets, run speed tests, configure networked devices, and complete other tasks with its smart tester features.

AutoTest

AutoTest

AutoTest is the most comprehensive NetAlly testing app on the AirCheck G3. It allows you to quickly run a variety of test types and save their configurations and network credentials for access whenever you need them. The app is fully customizable with test “profiles” for Wi-Fi network connections, wireless air quality, and individual “test targets” that can run with any profile.
 
In the Periodic AutoTest mode, AutoTest runs at specified intervals (from 1 minute to 24 hours) and sends the results to Link-Live to view the results over time. This is an effective way to monitor aspects of your network for an extended period, or to help diagnose intermittent issues without having to manually execute multiple tests.

Benefits:
AutoTest allows engineers to transfer their knowledge of network configurations to the instrument, empowering frontline technicians to run tests against various Wi-Fi SSIDs with minimal training. The result is a repeatable, documented tests with shortened overall test times, which otherwise would not be possible with other methods.

The Wireless Network Test profile verifies signal strength, connection rate, 802.1x authentication, shows Channel Utilization, provides AP information, tests for DHCP/DNS/Gateway response, and verifies connectivity (using Ping, TCP Connect, HTTP and FTP) to an unlimited number of test targets. Users can tap on each card to see more details and click the purple floating action button to attach the connection log or add comments to the test results.

Benefits:
With pre-programmed wireless test profiles with Pass/Fail thresholds, and advanced SSID visibility, it is easy for technicians to test various wireless network configurations with minimal training. The test results, along with connection log and comments, can be uploaded to Link-Live for automated documentation and analysis by remote experts.

Ping

Ping/TCP Test

For key servers/services residing on-prem or in the cloud, engineers can pre-define tests and thresholds to verify their connectivity and performance using ping, TCP connect, HTTP, or FTP.

Benefits:
Continuous testing with response time measurements is available to verify consistency and identify intermittent issues. These tests can be easily recalled by field technicians to reduce configuration time or mistakes, to get more done faster.

You can capture up to Wi-Fi 6 traffic on the 2.4/5/6GHz bands to create a PCAP file of up to 1Gigabyte. Packet slicing and filtering are supported, and PCAP files can be uploaded to Link-Live for easy sharing.

The AirCheck G3 automatically discovers your network through its set of Wi-Fi interfaces immediately upon power-up.
 
Devices are classified and correlated to provide complete visibility of their name and device type, network addresses, VLAN, SSID, and where available, traffic statistics. Engineers can add names and authorization status for devices discovered. Discovery results can be directly uploaded to Link-Live for detailed analysis of devices discovered with filter and sort tools, topology mapping, or export to CSV/PDF files as documentation.

Benefits:
The AirCheck G3 breaks the layer 2 visibility ceiling and makes it easy to discover the actual identity of a Wi-Fi device by showing its name and IP address while most other Wi-Fi tools only show the MAC address.

Wi-Fi Channel Map

The Wi-Fi channels map provides a visual representation of 802.11 utilization and non-802.11 utilization for each channel on the 2.4/5/6 GHz bands. It also shows number of APs, number of Clients, retry percentage, and number of illegal devices for each channel.

Benefits:
Quickly determine if channels are over-utilized with Wi-Fi traffic and/or with non-Wi-Fi interference and noise. You can also gain visibility on the level of Wi-Fi traffic and interference over the last 60 seconds on a selected channel, as well as the access points and clients using this channel.

The AirCheck G3 automatically discovers your network through its dual set of Wi-Fi radios immediately upon power-up. The discovery provides quick security and health audits of the network devices across all Wi-Fi channels.

Devices are classified and correlated to provide complete visibility of their name, network addresses, SSID, device type, configuration, and where available, traffic statistics. Engineers can name and set authorization status for devices discovered. The AirCheck G3 Wi-Fi device discovery automatically detects problems. It shows possible cause(s) for each problem detected, and it has integrated Wi-Fi troubleshooting tools to investigate further and get to root cause. Some of the tools included are:

Packet Capture: You can capture Wi-Fi 6/6E traffic on the 2.4/5/6GHz bands to create a PCAP file of up to 1Gigabyte. Packet slicing and filtering are supported, and PCAP files can be uploaded to the Link-Live Cloud Service for easy sharing.

Connection Test: Verifies connection and authentication to selected SSIDs/BSSIDs on the 2.4/5/6 GHz bands. It checks the connected channel utilization, tests for DHCP/DNS/Gateway response, and validates connectivity to an unlimited number of test targets.

Path Analysis

Path Analysis

Path Analysis traces the connection points, including intermediate switches and routers, between the AirCheck G3 and a destination URL or IP address. Path Analysis uses SNMP queries to identify issues such as overloaded interfaces, overloaded device resources, and interface errors. It also shows how devices within your network (and off-net devices) are connected.

The Path Analysis app can test through any one of the two network interfaces that have established a connection to the network and have an IP address.

With AirMapper, AirCheck G3 users can quickly and easily gather location-based Wi-Fi and Bluetooth/BLE measurements and create visual heat maps of key performance metrics in the Link-Live collaboration, reporting, and analysis platform.
The AirCheck G3, with a native Wi-Fi 6/6E radio, allows you to perform both active and passive Wi-Fi 6 surveys on the 6 GHz band.

Import a floor plan image (.png, .pdf or .jpg) and calibrate the floor plan dimensions (in meters or feet), or automatically push pre-configured and calibrated floorplans from Link-Live to testers in the field. Then touch START to begin the survey. Tap at various points on your floor plan to collect data; comments can be added to the survey with a long tap on the floorplan. When done, tap STOP, then touch the save icon to send your results to Link-Live for sharing and analysis.

Using the optional NXT-1000 Mobile Spectrum Analyzer, AirCheck G3 offers a view of RF interference in the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz bands and its impact on the wireless network’s overall performance. Key graphs and charts include:
• Real-Time Spectrum - Provides a live RF view including current, average and max readings.
• Frequency Spectrum – Displays heat mapped signal density to identify recurring energy.
• Spectrogram – Commonly called a “Waterfall”, it shows energy over time to identify the periodic nature of the RF environment.
