Important Upgrade Notes
- Perform a complete uninstall/reinstall for major upgrades.
- Your AllyCare support contract must be current to download:
- Latest software build
- Updated license file
- Back up saved trace files and custom configurations before upgrading.
Full Uninstall/Reinstall Process
- Back Up Important Files
.amcWiFi trace files- Modified files (e.g., AP List)
- Record License Details
- License number
- Serial key
- MAC address binding (PC or supported WiFi adapter)
- Uninstall AirMagnet WiFi Analyzer
- Go to Control Panel → Programs and Features
- Remove AirMagnet Laptop (do not retain license files)
- Delete Directories
C:\AirMagnet IncC:\Program Files\AirMagnet Inc\AirMagnet Laptop
- Reboot PC
- Download Installation File
- Log in to My AirMagnet account
- Save installer locally
- Install WiFi Adapter Driver
- From Documents/Drivers section in My AirMagnet
- Run Installation
- Extract files locally
- Accept license agreement
- Complete installation
- Register License
- Tie license to MAC address of PC or WiFi adapter
- Download license automatically or manually
- Save to
C:\Program Files\AirMagnet Inc\AirMagnet Laptop
- Launch Software
Patch Build Upgrade Instructions
- Download new build from Registered Products in My AirMagnet.
- Run executable and extract locally.
- Select AirMagnet WiFi Analyzer Pro Installation.
- Choose Repair/Update and click Next.
- Accept License Agreement.
- Complete installation and click Finish.
- Use WiFi Update Tool to download license:
- Start → All Programs → AirMagnet → WiFi Analyzer → Update Tool
- Alternatively, download license manually from My AirMagnet and save to:
C:\Program Files\AirMagnet Inc\AirMagnet Laptop - Launch software to confirm upgrade.
New Installation Steps
- Register serial number and download software from airmagnet.netally.com.
- Install supported WiFi adapter driver.
- Install WiFi Analyzer software and tie license to MAC address.
- Download and install license file automatically or manually.
Special License Note
Licenses starting with A1159-xxxxxxxx are limited to OptiView XG and cannot be installed on laptops with other WiFi adapters.
To use AirMagnet WiFi Analyzer Pro on a laptop, purchase a standalone license through an authorized sales channel.
